Western media described recent protests in China as “mark[ing] a new awakening” and represent a significant challenge to Xi Jinping and the Communist Party of China. After years of leading the world in addressing COVID-19, the Chinese government is indeed relaxing some of the lockdown regulations, but the situation is far more nuanced than the media is reporting.

To explore the reality and intricacies of the situation including U.S. posturing against China, we are joined by Carl Zha, host of Silk and Steel Podcast.

  1. Have you considered (I know this sounds crazy) that Xi Jinping might be using the *extreme* lockdown policy as an economic tool of demand management? It would apply if China had SO much debt having done SO much stealth QE, that it could no longer tolerate a spike in interest rates from “the global inflation” going round!? Rather than raise rates to curtail inflation, Xi jinping may have squashed demand! Plus it favors his buddy Joe Biden in keeping petrol prices down during the early Russia war.

  2. Lockdowns, testing and masking didn’t save people in China. Early treatment with HCQ, Ivermectin, traditional Chinese medicine, vitamin C, and many others and not using mRNA shots saved lives. On the other hand the US inflated covid numbers to terrify the public so they would obey and take the still experimental mRNA injections. The US increased deaths with Remdesivir, respirators, and especially outlawing early treatment. China’s goal was to save lives the US to maximize the profits of drug companies, to terrify the people and to increase tyranny.
